The Korea Objectivist Club

Welcome! The Korea Objectivist Club is a discussion group for Objectivists living in South Korea. The club hosts occasional meetings in the Seoul region in order to acquaint Objectivists with each other, deepen members’ understanding of Ayn Rand’s work, hold rational discussions on cultural and political events, and coordinate efforts to effect positive cultural change through the advocacy of Objectivist ideas here in Korea.

The club’s members are committed to understanding and applying the principles of Objectivism, the philosophy founded by Ayn Rand. The club supports but is not affiliated with the Ayn Rand Institute (ARI).

Depth of understanding of Objectivism differs among members, but a commitment to the understanding and application of the principles of Objectivism is prerequisite to continued membership. Furthermore, the principles of Objectivism as defined by ARI serve as background for all discussions at club meetings.

The club seeks individuals already in agreement with Objectivism who wish to study it further. Members are encouraged to promote Objectivism to non-Objectivists, but the meetings themselves are restricted to members as such. If you’re interested in Objectivism, but have yet to read any of Ayn Rand’s books, this video (Introduction to Objectivism, by Leonard Peikoff) is a brief and excellent introduction.

There are no fees to join this group. Members share any cost of meeting venues and social events.

If you are in Korea and interested in being part of such a club, please contact me. Include a paragraph or two about yourself and your familiarity with Objectivism.
